Hello, I am Eduardo Jirau, a graduate mechanical engineering student at Florida Polytechnic University. I enjoy bringing curiosity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude to challenging technical problems, especially involving emerging technologies and multidisciplinary engineering. What excites me most about engineering is the opportunity to keep learning about new systems, new technologies, and the people behind them.

Growing up, I loved building LEGOs, constructing blanket forts in my room, and finding ways to make my Hot Wheels cars travel downhill as fast as possible. That hands-on curiosity gradually developed into a passion for engineering. It also reconnected me with another childhood interest, space. Like many kids, I once dreamed of becoming an astronaut. I spent hours looking at the night sky and even covered my room with glow-in-the-dark stars so that space never felt too far away. I imagined what it would be like to build something on the Moon, a dream that feels far less impossible today because of the technologies being developed by multidisciplinary engineering teams around the world.

Technology has shaped the way we live, explore, and imagine what is possible, and I want to contribute to where it takes us next. Throughout my undergraduate degree, I developed both analytical and hands-on engineering experience by leading design projects through the complete prototype lifecycle and contributing to innovative research. These experiences taught me how to move from an initial idea to analysis, design, manufacturing, testing, and refinement while working across multiple engineering disciplines.
